The acronym stands for:
Within these 5 strands, students will study - through a variety of media - units of work which are timed to complement their academic progress and personal development.
In Key Stage 3, students follow units of work which help develop social and personal skills such as Enjoying a Healthy Lifestyle, Money, Bullying, Personal Safety & The Law, Changing Family Networks and Human Rights. There is also the opportunity to discuss Sexual Health & Relationships.
In Key Stage 4 the curriculum helps prepare the students for their transition into adulthood. Subjects include Self Image & The Media, Domestic Violence, Parenting and Preparation for Adult Life which will teach skills such as writing successful application forms and good interview technique.
The curriculum is supplemented by work with outside agencies wherever possible, for example working closely with the Metropolitan Police, the School Council and other projects within the community.
Questions are welcomed and should be addressed to the subject co-ordinator: Michael Wilmott
